Spooky
After Katrina a lot changed. Some places closed to reopen months later and then there were some that stayed closed for good. This website shows the Six Flags that is still closed. It is so creepy and surreal. The Lurker would plan a trip around a place like this. Check the pictures

Trader Joes
If you feel the same as the Lurker then you should relate to the video. There is something quite awesome about Trader Joe's. Here is a video devoted to the store. Any store that doesn't play crappy Christmas music is high on my list.

Aluminum foil wear
The Lurker found this on a tape the other day and just had to get this online. This never could have been a good idea. Maybe it was an April fools day joke on the public. That has to make more sense than actually selling it. The worst part is that I have seen at least one pair at a yard sale.

Just goin down to the oyster shak...dammit
Most of the time the Lurker objects to the use of a taser (fixin to get lit up) but maybe in this case it might trigger a brain cell or too.
Moo and Oink
Peta is going to be all over these guys. Making pigs and cows dance is just mean. The Lurker would buy from this store.

Mystery maple syrup stink of New York revealed
via Boing Boing by Cory Doctorow on 2/5/09
The mysterious, vexingly delicious smell of maple syrup that has been terrorizing New Yorkers for years, wafting about on its mysterious errands, has been run to ground. It is fenugreek, emitted from a New Jersey perfume plant. The first wave arrived in October 2005, drawing thousands of New Yorkers onto the streets for a lively debate. Was it maple syrup? Caramel? A freshly baked pie? But as quickly as it arrived, it had vanished. Then, last month, the smell returned.New Jersey Plant Is Called Source of Sweet Smell (via Kottke)Both times, the city's police and 311 information lines were flooded with calls. Many feared bioterrorism cloaked in an pleasant aroma.
On Thursday, the city announced that the mystery had been solved. The source of the odor was a plant in North Bergen, N.J., which processes seeds of the herb fenugreek to produce fragrances.
Thanks Boing Boing for the ending to a strange phenomenon.
a twofur
OK this came out a day or two ago and alone it is pretty funny. It just a kid coming back from the dentist still a little drugged. The best part is the predictability of the net. All you got to do is sit back and wait for the remixes. So to that you have the original and the metal version.
The Lurker loves the line "is this real life?"

The Japanese aim low
OK the Japanese gameshow ideas have finally gotten to the bottom of the barrel of ideas. The show is about getting guys to say something very fast and if they screw it up they get a stick to the boys.
Um enjoy....?

Since the Lurker's car has gone to the great scrap heap in the sky I have been paying a lot more attention to problems with cars. Here is a ton of photos of car issues.

The geek moment was brought to you by the GIJOE movie.
